Power Electrical Engineer:
Responsibilities
 | Completing
electrical drawings and specifications
|
| Working
with multiple engineering and CADD disciplines to ensure quality control
|
| Performing
field surveys to verify as-built conditions and code compliance
|
| Responsible
for technical electrical design of projects including:
 | Electrical
Load design, calculation and analysis of building systems (power,
emergency power, equipment)
|
| Design
and coordinate electrical system with other disciplines Plan, organize,
and lead the electrical design efforts for projects
|
| Develop
engineering studies and options for various systems
|
|
Power
| Power
distribution design high voltage: overhead and underground systems 13.8 kV -
35 kV. Systems include coordination with Utility Companies, switching,
ductbanks, feeder sizing, voltage drop, short circuit calculations and
application software
|
| Building
power design including switchgear, 480V distribution, TVSS, and building
systems. |
| Emergency
standby generators
|
| UPS
systems including rotary and static |
| Lightning
protection, grounding and bonding
|
| Protective
relay calculations, settings and verification
|
| Industrial
processes including VFDs, and coordination |
Lighting
| Experience
in interior and exterior lighting design |
| Sports
lighting
helpful |
| Experience
with Litepro 2.0 or similar lighting design software
helpful |
Qualifications
| B.S.
Electrical Engineering required, from accredited University program
|
| PE
license, by examination, Electrical, Texas required, or EIT with ability to
test for PE test within 6 months. |
| Experience
in engineering and design, preferably consulting firm experience
|
| Knowledge
of NEC, International Building Code
|
| Familiarity
and proficiency in AutoCAD
|
| MS
Office, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint experience required
|
| Excellent
verbal, written and presentation skills
|
| Well
organized and detail oriented.
|
| Interested
in researching new technology and applying it to the practice. |
| 5-7
years of relevant work experience |
