Renovation of Hangar 9
Brooks City Base

Alderson & Associates, Inc provided the MEP engineering design services for the rehabilitation of Hangar 9 at Brooks City Base in association with Debra J Dockery, Architect and Project Control, Inc. The San Antonio Historic Landmark was built in 1918 for use during World War I and is the oldest wooden aircraft hangar in its original location. The rehabilitation of Hangar 9 follows the $560,000 restoration of the Sidney Brooks Gravesite and Memorial for which the firm provided electrical engineering services. Sidney J. Brooks, Jr., one of the first U.S. Army aviators and the namesake of the former U.S. Air Force Base was the first San Antonio native to die in an aviation-related accident during World War I.
