Building 1001 Renovations
Ft. Sam Houston

Alderson & Associates, Inc. provided MEP design services for the renovation of a four-story 34,500 SF building that serves as office expansion for the US Army South Headquarters. Building 1001, built in 1936, is one of several historical structures recently renovated at Fort Sam Houston. It is situated among a cluster of medically-related buildings that were built in the Spanish Colonial Revival style.

Scope of services for this renovation consisted of documentation of existing conditions, project design, preparation of construction documents and construction administration.

Mechanical design consisted of Command Center; computer room air conditioner (CRAC) and industrial controls; plumbing modifications; variable air volume (VAV) air handlers, ductwork, and air devices; and chiller and boiler systems.

Electrical design consisted of interior lighting systems, power, and emergency power generator. LEED analysis data was also provided.
